Netiv HaYeled (the child's way) was founded in 2015 by Jerusalemites Malka and Ephraim Greenblatt, who wanted a new kind of gan for their son Binyamin. When they were unable to find a program that would foster his natural creativity and love of learning, they created one on their own. The program was designed from the start to address from a young age the sorts of common issues that the Greenblatts and their peers experienced as adults, before they could grow into larger struggles.
Beginning with three children in a living room, the gan grew quickly. Soon it moved to a rented apartment with more students. By the end of 2018, there were 46 students, six teachers and two classrooms.
Working with the municipality, they have kept the cost of tuition down while still sustaining an innovative early educational program unique in Israel.
In the three years since he began school, The Greenblatts are  happy to report that Binyamin's curiosity and desire to explore is still intact, nurtured by the environment of the gan. As well, his resilience and ability to cope constructively with setbacks has only improved.
